You may be asking, "Why do they use a Greek Name?", "Why don't they call themselves Church of God?", "What does that mean?", etc.
The bottom line is God led us to use "Ecclesia Theos At..."
It means "Church of God at ..."
It means "Called out ones of God at ..."
We have been called to use this name in these latter times just as the New Testament Church was called to use this name in the times of the apostles.
In each of these examples below, the Original words were "Ecclesia Theos" (English rendering of the Greek Language)
(Acts 20:28)
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
(1 Corinthians 1:2)
Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
(1 Corinthians 10:32)
Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
(1 Corinthians 11:22)
What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.
(1 Corinthians 15:9)
For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
(2 Corinthians 1:1)
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia:
(Galatians 1:13)
For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:
(1 Timothy 3:5)
(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
However, Not every time in the Bible or New Testament or History did Paul use this term. In other cases it was "To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called saints:"Romans 1:7, "unto the churches of Galatia:" Galatians 1:2, "to the saints which are at Ephesus" Ephesians 1:1, "to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi" Philippians 1:1, "To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse" Colossians 1:2, "unto the church of the Thessalonians" 1 Thess.1:1, 2 Thess. 1:1. Therefore this shows that Paul was not obsessed with an organizational title. It was about the PEOPLE and the Message, Not the organization!
The use of this Greek term symbolizes the following facts:
-We are Called out of the world to be separate and different and peculiar and to be His People as Ambassadors of the Kingdom of God to this world
-We are Called to Minister to all nations and people and tongues including Gentiles
-God is raising up people who are Called to travel
-God is raising up some Prophets in these latter days
-The world, in many ways, is returning back to Roman and Greek Empire type of times. If you think of how it was during and around the time-frame of Jesus life on earth 2,000 years ago, it's going to return back to that in many ways such as miracles, persecution of real Christians, Church Headquarters in Jerusalem, people traveling far and wide to spread the gospel, people having to make a STAND for Christ, Roman occupation of the Holy Land, Elijah preparing for Christ coming, etc.
The New Testament Message was written in Greek to reach a Greek world. The apostles and disciples traveled to spread the good news. They traveled far and wide. They did not believe in sitting still waiting for people to come to them. They did not believe in hiding the truth. They knew they had a commission To Go to all nations, telling them to repent and to be baptized in the name of Jesus the Christ.
Therefore God has led us to return to this Greek Term to symbolize the return to Spreading the Gospel of the Kingdom of God to all nations, with Love, Mercy, Grace and Compassion and in Power for all souls with Welcoming open arms for all that will receive in the same spirit of Love.
To your surprise, I am a Jew. As a Jew, I do not feel a need to speak Hebrew to be Holy. I do not feel a need to speak Hebrew in order to serve the supreme deity. I would that people stop speaking all this Hebrew. God loves all races, all peoples, all nations and He gives the message to both the Hebrew and the Gentile. If you are Jewish, you can speak Jewish. If you are Gentile, you can speak Gentile. Now, even though America as a country is not gentile but Israelite, many of the individual people are gentile physically. But we are all Jews spiritually but you still do not have to or need to pretend that you are a physical Jew by speaking Hebrew. Paul was a Roman Jew with a message to the gentiles, spoke Greek and wrote Greek. If your natural language is English, well then speak English. Elijah is going to return the hearts of the children and Fathers NOT return the language! Slalom Sabbot is no holier than "Happy Sabbath"! Get over it! Revelation 2 and 3 message to the churches warns against those that say they are Jews but are not. Instead of focusing on Hebrewic Roots, we need to return our focus on the Lord of Lords, King of Kings, Lord and King of all peoples, Jesus the Christ. What's the message? Is the language the message? Forgive me if I sound sour or rude But people are getting their focus wrong. How many hours have you spent learning a language? Wouldn't that time have been better spent helping the poor, needy, homeless or spreading the Gospel (Good News) of the Kingdom of God which is a message of Love for all peoples including the Gentiles. Some people have accused me of being reclusive, that is to not include people, to distance people from the gospel due to my stance against the "Hebrewic Roots" and "sacred names" doctrines. But God says that I'm being inclusive, including peoples of all nations, races and tongues. I say the word "Yeshua" and "Yahweh" sometimes. But I don't use those terms every time. Jesus is VERY acceptable to me. People think that because God is Great, that He only has one name. That is so laughable! The greater someone is, the MORE names they have! After you are turned into Spirit aren't you also going to receive a New Name! How many different titles and names are listed in the Bible for God? Dozens! Look at the kings and presidents of the earth. They have many names. The more important someone is, the more names they have!
How do you join Ecclesia Theos?
Repent, Be baptized by complete total immersion in water and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (power) (Jesus) within you. There are no membership papers to sign. It's a spiritual Family. You are being brought into this spiritual Kingdom Now.
Can our local congregation use this title?
Anyone who:
-Obeys Gods Commandments including the Sabbath and the Holy Days AND
-Observes New Moon dates each month and calculates the Holy Days accordingly AND
-Worships Him with Lifted Holy Hands and on Bended Knee and Praises the King with Worship Songs, AND
-Lives for King Jesus AND
-Has an Open Door Policy including public publication of phone numbers of ministers and addresses of services AND
-Has the Gift of the Holy Power from on High AND
-Forbids not speaking in tongues 1 Cor. 14:39 AND
-Does NOT believe in the sacred names doctrine AND
-Does NOT observe Pagan rituals of christmas, easter, halloween, valentines day AND
-Does NOT teach a "rapture" into Heaven AND
-Keeps the common sense and biblical dietary laws of Lev. 11 AND
-Teaches the correct translations of what happens after death, the truth about Heaven and hell and the wonderful Resurrections
