Pentecost

We should keep the Holy Days / Holidays of God, Of the Government/Kingdom of God & we should desire and look forward to these days and a closer intimate relationship with God. We should count the days to Pentecost. We should count the days to Pentecost! Not just because it's a law. But because we should be looking forward to this celebration. As other people count the days to Christmas, Christians should count the days to God's Appointed Feast.

Pentecost represents the First fruits of God's Harvest. The First Harvest = The First Resurrection. The Spring Harvest. The Ekkelsia that is being grown and gathered in this time generation. The Glorified Power of the Holy Ghost was given on the day of Pentecost in Acts. They were told by Jesus to wait there for the Power from on High. They were gathered together. They were there to keep the Feast of Weeks / Feast of Firstfruits as instructed in Lev. 23 and other places in the bible. They were in obedience to the Law of God. They received the Gift of the Holy Ghost, filled with Supernatural Power from Heaven, spoke with the gift of unknown tongues. This year, Let's be gathered together, waiting (in prayer) for the Power from Heaven to pour out on us!

Contrary to popular belief, the Church did not start on the Day of Pentecost. The bible never says the Church started on the Day of Pentecost. Nor does it say that the Day of Pentecost was the first time people were empowered from on High with the Holy Ghost. The Church was actually started on the Day Jesus was conceived. The Church is the Body of Christ. That Body of Christ started on the day He was conceived. Jesus was the first born of that body. He was the first baptized of that body. He is the first fruits. The Church was established with Christ Himself being the foundation and chief cornerstone. After Christ, the first members were the disciples after the Resurrection but before the Day of Pentecost. Notice this scripture:

John 20:19-23 (KJV) 19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. 20 And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. 21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: 23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.

Yes, they received The Holy Ghost! So, they became the first members (after Christ) of the New Testament Church and this was before the Day of Pentecost. The Church did not start on Pentecost. But on Pentecost many people were added to the Church.

Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. Was the Day of Pentecost the foundation?

1 Corinthians 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Eph.2:18-22
18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

Did you read the above scriptures in your personal paperback/hardback bible today or just only on this website?
If only online, I encourage you to please open your bible and read these verses both on our website and in your bible. There is power in reading the real bible. Also, did you pray before beginning to read about this specific subject today? If not, I encourage you to take the time now to pray for understanding of truth.

The word prophets in verse 20 is not referring to Old Testament prophets. But rather New Testament prophets. Notice the only two other times the word prophets appear in the book of Ephesians, it is clearly talking about New Testament Prophets. Ephesians 3:5, 4:11. So staying true to the context in which Paul is using this word, and the context of the New Testament Church, it's clearly saying the New Testament Church was started with Christ Jesus and the disciples who became Apostles and Prophets.

How to Count Pentecost

Lev 23:15-16, 20-21
15 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath (during week of unleavened bread), from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete: 16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD. 20 And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits for a wave offering before the LORD, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to the LORD for the priest. 21 And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.

Therefore it is very easy to see that the Pentecost/Feast of Firstfruits/Feast of Weeks always occurs on Sunday, the morrow after the 7th Sabbath counting from the sabbath of Unleavened bread.

Any other day is in rebellion to God's Written Word!

God's Word has authority over any tradition of man or publication of man.

How To Observe Pentecost

Pentecost is a "High Holy Day". This means that it is a commanded day of Rest and a commanded day of Assembly. We are commanded to gather with other brothers and sisters who are following Jesus, who are not part of Babylon (false religious denominations). If you do not have a local congregation, you should try to travel to the nearest congregation in another city or state if necessary. We are instructed in the scriptures to save up a second tithe all year to provide financial funds for the annual commanded pilgrimages. The first tithe goes to God via the ministry or homeless, needy, hungry, naked, prisoners, widow, orphans, or your personal ministry of giving tracts/bibles, etc. You keep and save back the second tithe to fund your travel expenses, hotel cost, food, etc to observe all the annual Holy Days. The bible says that three times per year, that all the male head of households are to appear before the LORD & that they are not to appear empty handed. The three times per year is Passover/Unleavened Bread, Pentecost and Tabernacles. We are to keep all 7 annual Festivals. But with these three, we are commanded to travel if necessary to attend services and to bring a freewill offering of any amount. In our modern times, it should not be just the male head of household, but rather, any and all members of the household that are submissive/obedient to Jesus. If you cannot travel, such as if you have no income, then you may listen to our live broadcast of Holy Day Services via the internet or by telephone. In this way, you will be assembling with us and fulfilling the requirement to attend with others. However, it is advisable and strongly recommended that you make every effort to attend in person. However, Jesus understands, and we understand, that there are certain situations in which it is just impossible. Therefore, we do offer the internet and telephone broadcasts for your edification. In addition to attending services and resting,

Things We Should Not Do on Pentecost

Isa. 58:13-14 (NASB) 13 "If because of the sabbath, you turn your foot From doing your own pleasure on My holy day, And call the sabbath a delight, the holy day of the LORD honorable, And honor it, desisting from your own ways, From seeking your own pleasure And speaking your own word, 14 Then you will take delight in the LORD, And I will make you ride on the heights of the earth; And I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father, For the mouth of the LORD has spoken."

The purpose of this "do not do" list is to be a generalized guideline for people to consider for their choices of what to refrain from on The Sacred Days. It is not meant to be a concrete list for everyone. Again this is just a generalized list which will not be true for everyone. But I do believe it will be true for most people.

Permissible

Commanded Pilgrimages

Exodus 23:14-19 and Deut. 16:1-17 commands us to observe 3 annual pilgrimages at the Holy day seasons of Passover/Unleavened Bread, Pentecost and Tabernacles. Many people try to claim that we no longer need to do this because there is no longer a temple. But the scriptures are clear that the pilgrimages were commanded even when there was no temple. In fact, the context is also clear that the holy days/feasts should be kept at different locations, not just one. It was wherever "The LORD you God chooses", which is very clear that it wasn't just at the temple every year. God doesn't expect people in South America to travel to Jerusalem every year until Jesus returns, and then we will be required to do so, according to Zech. 14, but right now in our modern age, we are not required to travel yet to Jerusalem, but rather Jesus appoints different locations via the church ministers/pastors. Many people reject the commanded travel because of financial burden. But if we obey God and save our 2nd Tithes, we will have the money to keep the Commandments. Deut. 14:22-29 and Deut. 26 commands us to save our 2nd tithes for the purpose of the 3 annual pilgrimages. The 1st tithe should go to the work of the Kingdom such as ministry & church expenses and bibles & gospel tracts. The 3rd tithe is only every 3rd year out of each 7 year cycle. The 3rd tithe goes into funds to help orphans, widows and ministers. The 2nd tithe is not sent to the church, or other people. But rather the 2nd tithe is saved by each person/family an then used to pay for travel expenses, camping, food & other needs for the Holy Days. If your employment offers "Vacation time", you should schedule your vacation time to be at the same time as the annual holy days. If your employment does not offer this benefit, you should still notify your employer in advance that you will be taking these days off of work due to religious holidays. In the USA, it is the law that employers give you time off of work of religious holidays. If you are a hard, dependable worker, your employer is not likely to give you any problems. Most people that fret about this issue, eventually learn that they worried for no reason. The annual commanded pilgrimages are a good reason to live in the same community/town as other true believers. Fellowship is extremely important, and it will be easier to travel only 30 minutes, up to 1/2 hours for the Holy days, rather than having to travel a thousand miles, 3 times per year. Many people try to claim that the holy days & related pilgrimages are no longer valid in the New Covenant time era. But that claim is proven wrong by several facts. The bible never says such. The apostles continued to keep all of the annual holy day & pilgrimages, even decades after the crucifixion. The apostle Paul continued to teach the observance of the holy day feasts. Even Jesus returns, we will continue to keep the holy days. The bible is clear about all of this. We must push aside the traditional lawless doctrines of Babylonian false religions of mankind and obey Jesus. I Saw The Light Ministries hosts all 3 annual pilgrimages and all other annual holy days.

Annual Pilgrimage

Deut. 16 teaches us that among all of the annual Holy Days, there are 3 commanded pilgrimages where people are commanded to travel to gather together at an ordained location for fellowship & worship. I Saw The Light Ministries will be hosting all 3 of these pilgrimages each year. We usually host/gather in either Greeneville, Morristown or Newport, Tennessee which is in/near the Great Smoky Mountains of east Tennessee. We will be camping together at one of the local campgrounds. We do not post the specific location & name of the campground, in order to protect people who want to come to worship God in peace. We seek to protect the congregation from any possible Muslims, atheists & other trouble makers. I am sure that in this day & time that you can understand this. Please be sure to read much of this website to ensure that we agree on the majority of doctrine. We seek to fellowship with like minded brethren. It does not make sense to fellowship with people who are not like minded. So please read much of this website before registering to come to our festival gathering. Preregistration is required.
