The Power of Testimony
A very important weapon in our arsenal against our enemy the evil one is the tool and weapon of Testimony. Some congregations say that testimony should not be done in services because some people might be in competition against one another for words and who has the best testimony. My experience with attending many different types of churches have shown that the truth is just the opposite. Most people do NOT want to stand up in front of the church and most people do NOT want to be seen or heard by the entire church. It's actually very humbling to allow yourself to share your testimony with the church. The purpose of it is to glorify God, to give witness about the power of God, to edify one another and to let others know that God is working and moving. It lets others know that if one person can be healed, another person can also be healed. It lets others know that if one person can stand up for Christ, that others can also stand up for Christ. It is setting an good example. To give a testimony is to lay aside your pride and fear and instead have courage to speak up for the behalf of the Lord and actually Witness for Him. We are all called to be witnesses. God is a King. He has a government. He is the supreme Judge. He wants us to be witnesses and to testify for Him.
What will the two witnesses be doing the last 3 and a half years? They will be witnessing! That's why they are called witnesses! A witness gives testimony. A witness is no good if the witness does not have the courage to take the stand and give their testimony. The scriptures clearly states that testimony's have power and that this tool/weapon will be very instrumental in the end times. Rev. 12:10-11 says we will overcome the accuser (the evil one) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony. Therefore it is very reasonable to say that we should give testimonies!
When God does something, we should not keep silent. We should publish and proclaim what God has done. We should run and tell everyone we know. We should tell people of His Power and Love. Do you think that in the Old and New Testaments when God did something that people held back and hid God's work? No, they ran and told people in far distant lands and spread the Word! God wants us to spread the Word and share the Word, not hold it in. We should be hot on fire for the Lord, moving, excited, sharing, doing the work He wants us to do, helping the poor and needy, NOT being lukewarm sitting still doing nothing. It is because we were lukewarm and did nothing to reach out to others and because of our pride that the Lord did Spit us out of His Mouth. We should exalt the Name of the Lord.
