Is It Acceptable To The Almighty Creator For Us To Celebrate Our Annual Birthday?

(Please pause to pray before reading, so that you will be led in the Truth.)

(Posted Oct.10, 2016)

Most people have no second thought about it. It's something that most of us have done from childhood. What could possibly be wrong with celebrating the day that God brought us into this world? It's fun. It's supposedly harmless. It's tradition. My parents celebrated their birthdays and so did their parents. Everyone celebrates their birthdays. So how can it be wrong? Well, after we get saved and continue to grow in Jesus Christ, we eventually should want to serve Jesus even more than before. We want to learn and grow within His Will. We need to grow to full maturity in Christ Jesus. We should not stay babies in Christ Jesus for the rest of our lives. We need to become mature in Jesus and true doctrine. According to the bible, we should test/examine/prove everything! 1 Thes.5:21. We are not to follow the world and its traditions of mankind. We are not to just assume that we have always been taught correctly by our local cultural traditions and local religion. We need to seek the real truth in all things in Jesus Christ. What does the bible say about celebrating our annual birthday?

The word "birthday" only appears 3 times in the KJV translation of the bible:
Gen. 40:20 And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, that he made a feast unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants.

Matt. 14:6 But when Herod's birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod.

Mark 6:21 And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;

Therefore, in all 3 examples of an annual birthday celebration, it was wicked, heathen, pagan people who celebrated their birthdays. We have absolutely no bible verse of a righteous/holy person celebrating their annual birthday. We must consider this fact. We should not ignore this important fact. We have no record of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, Peter, Noah, Moses, Isaiah, David or any other man/woman of God celebrating their birthdays. In fact, historical record shows that the Israelites always considered annual birthday celebrations to be pagan and forbidden! That's another fact that we should not ignore.

Celebration of Jesus' Birthday?
Most people would interject that the shepherds and wise men celebrated Jesus' birthday. However, if we examine the bible carefully, they came to worship the new born King of kings. Celebration of a new birth is not the same as celebrating annual birthday anniversaries every year. In Matthew 2:11, they gave gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. All 3 of these gifts were extremely expensive/valuable at that time. These were not t-shirts, toys or clothes. These were gifts of worship toward The King of kings. Worship of God is not the same as the worship of a human being. Worship of Jesus is not the same as the worship of self or of your brother, sister, child, parent or friend. Worship of God is not forbidden. But worship of a normal human is forbidden. If we really, really examine ourselves with all honestly, we must admit that annual birthday celebrations are a form of self worship, or the worship of another human being. It is vanity. It is not humbling ourselves as we are told to do in scripture. It's a tradition of pagans that was passed down to us by our parents who did not know any better. The ancient kings who claimed that they were God in the flesh observed their annual birthday celebrations. But only the birthday of Jesus Christ is acceptable. He is the only one true God. Click here for 100% total undeniable proof that Jesus is God. Then, click here for 100% total undeniable proof that Jesus is His true Hebrew Name, and not a pagan name. However, Jesus was not born on Dec.25th or any other date in the winter. We know for a fact that Jesus was not born in the winter. Therefore to celebrate Dec.25 (Christmas) as His birthday is to celebrate a lie. We have tons of historical evidence that Christmas was observed for thousands of years before Christ was born, and it was the universal recognized birthday of false gods, which are actually demons, Zeus, Tammuz, Ra, Nimrod and others. Christmas originated in Assyria as the worship of Nimrod and Asshur. To celebrate Dec.25th/Christmas, is to celebrate and worship demons. If you do not believe this, then I encourage you to do your own research in a sincere and honest look at the pagan origins of Christmas and when Jesus was actually born. Click here to see proof that Jesus was born around the 7th month (September) of that year. And please click here to see proof about the Assyrian Pagan origin of Christmas. I believe that it is totally acceptable to worship Jesus on His true birthday, the first day of each Feast of Tabernacles, but that we should not do so in the same way (Christmas trees, holly, mistletoe, satan claws, etc) that everyone else celebrates the Assyrian pagan holiday of Christmas. Deut.12:30-32.

Rebirth: Born Again, The Old Person is Dead
Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7 For he that is dead is freed from sin. 8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: 9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. 10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

Did you read the above scriptures in your personal paperback/hardback bible today or just only on this website?
If only online, I encourage you to please open your bible and read these verses both on our website and in your bible. There is power in reading the real bible. Also, did you pray before beginning to read about this specific subject today? If not, I encourage you to take the time now to pray for understanding of truth.

According to the above verses, when we get saved via baptism (click here for proof), we are crucified/killed in Christ Jesus and we are born again. That old person who was born on a certain date is dead. That person no longer exists. 2 Cor.5:17. But we are born again on a new date, the date of our water baptism! Therefore, as a new creation in Christ Jesus, we are not to celebrate the old, lost, sinful person that we used to be. But rather, we can/should celebrate the new birth of the new person in Christ Jesus. The old birthday was totally self-absorbed. It was all about us. But the new birthday is all about Jesus and what He did for us. He saved our soul! He changed us. He gave us new life! This is worthy of celebration and it actually worships God rather than us. We should not observe our new spiritual birthday in the same carnal way that we used to worship the birth of our flesh. We don't need candles, birthday cakes or a "happy birthday" song. It's not about us anymore. It's now about our King Jesus! However, it would be acceptable to have a special celebratory meal and to give gifts to the person in celebration of the date that person was saved. But we must be careful to be sure that the focus remains on what Jesus did, and not focused upon ourselves.

Matt.16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

We see in Matt.16:24-25 that we must deny ourselves to follow Jesus. The bible teaches us to humble ourselves. The continuation of annual carnal, fleshly birthdays is not humbling ourselves or denying ourselves. Those that hold onto the old ways and the old self, will find great disappointment as they will not be able to have eternal life in The Kingdom of God. We must be willing to lose our old life in order to gain eternal new life. This is the meaning of true salvation and baptism.

As people mature in Christ Jesus and eventually accept the truth against Christmas, Easter and Halloween, they are willing to give up those old, ancient, pagan, demonic holidays. But our own birthday is always the hardest to give up, because it's self worship. Or else, we are helping and promoting someone else's self worship. When we refuse to give up something for Christ, it proves that it has become a god to us. The holy scriptures tell us that we must be willing to even forsake even our own spouse, children, parents and houses and lands for Jesus!
Matt.10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
Matt.19:29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

That's much deeper than the traditional "just believe & say a prayer" salvation. Even the demons believe, know scripture and go to church. God is looking for people who will 100% fully submit to Him and His truth and His will. Not our own will and our own ways and our own traditions. If we are not willing, if need be, to forsake our own parents, children, family, friends, houses, lands or own own birthday, then we are not worthy to enter the fullness of the Kingdom or Heaven. No sin will enter the Fullness of The Kingdom. no half-hearted Christian will enter in. Jesus is not looking for a "one knee" Christian who only bends one knee in prayer. he is looking for those people who are willing to be fully Crucified and bow both knees and mind, body and soul.
Matt.22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Birthdays a Celebration of God? Many people, once confronted with the truth about carnal, fleshly annual birthdays, will often try to claim that their birthdays (annual date of their fleshly birth) are just worshipping God and the date that God put them on Earth. But I have never known anyone who actually did worship God on their birthdays. It's just an assertion that is made only after the fact of being confronted with the truth. It's just a person reaching for straws and justification/excuse to continue in sin & self worship, or the worship and "fun" of their children. In 48 years of life, I have never witnessed a person observing their birthday or anyone else's physical birthday totally in honor of Jesus Christ. It's always been about the human, not about God. People try to use the same excuse of "it's about Jesus" when they are also confronted with the truth about pagan Christmas and Easter. The Israelites used the same excuse for the golden calf idol in Exodus 32:5-6. There will be no excuses on Judgment Day.

The Vanity of this Life and These Perilous Times
Ecclesiastes 7:1 "A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth".
Most people do not understand that this mortal, physical life in this time era is not what life's all about. This life is only temporary. When we came into this physical life, we entered a wicked world full of deception. A lot of people act as though that this life is the only life that anyone will ever live. That's the attitude of the atheist. But the true Christian should eventually come to the realization that it's The Life in The Fullness of The Kingdom that we should really focus upon. We are just strangers and pilgrims in this world. We should not feel "at home" in this world. The more wicked that this current world becomes, the more that we should be eager for the future world of The Kingdom of Jesus. I don't really see that this physical life in this wicked, carnal world is anything to celebrate. My focus is not on how old my physical body is. Our hope is on the future. Our mind is on the future. Our focus is on making sure that we will be with Jesus in the fullness of The Kingdom.
In our current time frame of just before the final Great Tribulation of the end times, we have a special situation where it would be better for many people if they were to go to sleep (die) before the Great Tribulation. Luke 21:36 "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man." That verse is not talking about any pre-trib rapture fairy tale, but rather is referring to Isa.57:1 & Rev.14:13 where it says that some people are spared the coming storm via going to sleep/death, and in Rev.12:13-17 others are spared via an end time great Exodus into a hidden "wilderness" where Jesus will supernaturally protect some of His people during the Great Tribulation. In this end time generation, considering what horrible events that are about to transpire (Matt.24:15-21), truly the day of one's temporary death/sleep until the Resurrection, is better than the day of one's birth into these perilous times. This is certainly not a good time to be bringing new babies into this world!

What Is Acceptable
-Spiritual Birthday celebrations of Salvation. Celebrate Jesus and that He saved your soul. Remember and celebrate the date that Jesus saved you. This is good and acceptable. But be sure that the focus remains upon Jesus and what He did. Not about you.
Gal.2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
It's not about how many years I have lived, but rather how many years that Christ has lived in me.
Jesus gave me the Galatians 2:20 verse and this statement about "how many years that Christ has lived in me" on the very day of the writing of this article, which confirms His Will.

-Celebrations of new born babies. When a woman has a baby, there is nothing wrong with celebrating. There is nothing wrong with the joy & happiness of a new mother or new dad. This is not pagan or self worship or the worship of a person. It is an event worthy of celebration. There is nothing wrong with giving supplies as a gift to help the new parents with their new child. But to continue to celebrate that date each year, is to raise that child in a pagan traditional custom that will teach that child to worship themselves and to exalt themselves and to be carnal and materialistic.
-Celebrate the true birth of God Jesus on the First Day of the Feast of Tabernacles in the Autumn of each year. There is nothing wrong with worshipping the one true God.
-Commemorate and celebrate historical events & things God has done in history. The bible is clear that God approves of the commemoration and celebration of historical events where God gave people victory against their enemies. Such examples would include Purim and Hanukkah (Festival of Dedication/Lights). Thanksgiving would also be acceptable since its origins are not pagan. Thanksgiving gives thanks to the one true God. It's truly a form of gratitude and worship toward God; and it truly is focused on Him. Jesus also commands 7 annual Holy Day Celebrations such as Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles. Please click here to learn about the biblical, commanded Holy Days (Holidays) of The Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

Objection: We are not under law but under Grace.
Answer: Birthdays are not a matter of old covenant vs. new covenant. Grace is never license to partake in the ways of the heathen or to exalt oneself, or to avoid humbling oneself. It seems that people, who know very little about what the scriptures actually teach, always want to use the "grace card" to justify their carnal ways. But Romans 6:1 says "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?". The answer to that would be a big "No!" If you still disagree with what you have read here, will you at least pray about this, in fasting in a sincere and honest desire for the truth?
