Clothed By Our Righteousness According to The Law

Sermon notes April 24, 2021 (12th day of 1st month)

Revelation 19:7-9 (KJV)
7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

Verse 8 "righteousness" = Greek Strong's #1345 = ordinances/law = righteousness/holiness according to the law.

Old Testament usages of #1345
Greek #1345 is translated as ordinances (requirements/law) in many verses throughout the Old Testament. H2708 statue/ordinance statute (77x), ordinance (22x)

Psa. 119:80 Let my heart be sound in thy statutes; that I be not ashamed.

Ezek 20:13, 16, 18, 21, 24, 25 they threw away the ordinances and profaned the Sabbaths.
13 But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.
16 Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.
18 But I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols:
21 Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted my sabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.
24 Because they had not executed my judgments, but had despised my statutes, and had polluted my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols.
25 Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live;

New Testament usages:
1345 noun occurs 13 times in 10 verses in the N.T. The KJV translates Strong's G1345 in the following way: righteousness (4x), ordinance (3x), judgment (2x), justification (1x).

Luke 1:6 They (The parents of John the baptizer) were both righteous in the sight of Theos, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and ordinances/requirements G1345 of the Lord.

Romans 1:32 And although they know the ordinance G1345 of God, that those who practice such things (sins) are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them.
Here, Paul uses the 1345 word as something that people should obey, and that is not done away with. (Not deleted.)

Romans 2:26 So if the uncircumcised man keeps the ordinances/requirements G1345 of the Law, will his uncircumcision not be regarded as circumcision?

Rms 5:16 The gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one hand the judgment arose from one sin, resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the spiritual blessing arose from many offenses, resulting in righteousness/justification G1345.

Rms 5:18 So then, as through one offense the result was condemnation to all mankind, so also through one act of righteousness G1345 the result was justification of life to all mankind.

Rms 8:4 That the righteousness G1345 of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
This means obedience to the law of God. Fulfilled does not mean erase or delete. But to bring to fullness.

Hebrews 9:1 Now even the first covenant had ordinances/regulations G1345 for divine worship and the earthly sanctuary.

Hebrews 9:10 Since they relate only to food, drink, and various washings, ordinances/regulations G1345 for the body imposed until a time of reformation.

Rev. 15:4 "Who will not fear You, Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy; For ALL THE NATIONS (Ps. 86:9 whom you have made) WILL COME AND WORSHIP BEFORE YOU, For Your righteous works G1345 (creation of the universe and of law) have been manifested."
Rev.15:4 is referring to Psalm 86:8-10. But 1345 doesn't appear in Ps.86:8-10
Ps 86:8 Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works. (remove first occurrence of "works". Last sentence should say "Nor are there any works like Yours.")
Ps.86:10 For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone. ("wonders" or "wondrous things" is referring to the miracle of creation; therefore Rev.15:4 is referring to actual works, not just righteousness or justification.)

Different word for justification (1345 is not justification)
1347: Romans 4:25; 5:16,18 to be made righteous by Christ's sacrifice.
#1347 noun occurs only 2 times in NT. Rms 4:25; 5:18 "Justification"
1347 in OT only in Lev. 24:22 same law or judgment/verdict for both

Different but almost same word for works AND Justified BOTH in James
James 2:21,24,25
:21 justified 1344 works 2041
:24 same :25 same
Heb. 10:24 works (provoke to) = 2041
Eph. 2:10 we were created to go good works 2041.
Titus 3:5 not saved by works 2041 of righteousness 1343 that we have done

Other closely related words but not the same:
1343 noun occurs 91 times in 86 verses in the NT for righteousness ONLY.
1343 in OT many times for righteousness

1344 verb occurs 40 times in 35 verses in the NT. justify/justified (37x), be freed (1x), be righteous (1x), justifier (1x).
1344 in OT many times for justified, do justice

1346 in OT 6 times: Justly
5 times in NT: justly, righteously

1347 in OT only in Lev. 24:22 "same law or judgment/verdict for both".

Revelation 19:7-9
Verse 8 "righteous acts/deeds/works" = Greek Strong's #1345
righteousness/holiness according to the law

Even John MacArthur says that the Greek word in this verses does not refer to "...Christ's imputed righteousness granted to believers at salvation (not justification) but the practical results (fruits) of that righteousness in people's lives, i.e. the outward manifestation of inward virtue."
Compare 15:4 the righteous works of God (creation of the universe and of law) and 19:8 the righteous works (righteousness/holiness according to the law) of the saints. Jesus said that the works that He did were actually the works of The Father. And that The Father was in Him and He was in The Father. If we apply the same to us as the sons of God, the works that we do, are done by The Holy Ghost in us. But we must do those works, not just believe that God has justified us.
The righteous works of the saints are based upon the commandments and requirements. Luke 1:6.
1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
1 John 2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him. (doeth/practice righteousness = to work righteousness as a lifestyle.)

Isa. 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness (robe of joy/gladness in the Greek), as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
Clothed with righteousness/holiness according to the law.
Greek says joy/gladness. (Song "Oh Happy Day" based on this verse.)
But Aramaic says H6666 = righteous works (as defined by law).
By comparing Rev. 19:8 I believe that Isa. 61:10 should say righteousness/holiness according to the law, not joy/gladness.

Eph. 5:25-27
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

"Washed by scripture" includes the law of the 10 Commandments and Holy Days which Jesus said that He would not remove until New Earth. Matt.5:18.
Jesus cleanses us by His Blood at Passover. But the lesson of the 7 days of Unleavened Bread is that we must continue to be washed daily by the reading of the scriptures and not just letting those scriptures go in one ear and out the other, but actually obeying those scriptures as Jesus said that if we do not keep His commandments and yet claim to know Him, we are a liar.

Mark of God: Branded in our foreheads & hands
Deut. 6:8 is branding. 1345 is in 5:31; 6:1 (3x) and 6:17, 20, 24.
Deut. 11:1 The branding is in verses 16-22 especially 18

Deut. 11:18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.

Deut. 5-6
5:31 But as for thee, stand thou here by me, and I will speak unto thee all the commandments, and the statutes (G1345), and the judgments, which thou shalt teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.
6:1 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:
17 Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.
20 And when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God hath commanded you?
24 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.

Marriage Covenant at Mt. Sinai with the 10 Commandments and holy days.
That covenant with Jesus via the 10 Commandments isn't fulfilled until we actually marry him at the Marriage Supper in Heaven.
The keeping of the commandments is our engagement ring to be married to Jesus.
The blood did not erase our marriage or our engagement ring.

Rev. 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. (Not just whether or not they believed. Matt.7:21-23. Christians who are workers at breaking the law of God will be condemned and destroyed in The Lake of Fire.)

Matt. 7:21-23
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Rev. 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Rev. 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Rev. 22:11 "Let the one who does wrong, still do wrong; and the one who is filthy, still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous (1342), still practice righteousness (1343); and the one who is holy, still keep himself holy."

Rev. 22:14 "Blessed are they that do his commandments, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city."

Considering that Rev.19:8 is near Rev. 20:13 and Rev.22:11-14, these verses confirm that the white robes that the saints will be clothed with are in connection to how we live, not justification. We are judged according the spiritual principals of the law. Matthew 5. Matthew 25.

The Alpha & Omega Bible more correctly translates Rev. 19:8 as follows:
"It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright, clean; for the fine linen is the saints' righteousness/holiness according to the law."

All of this proves that the people who refuse to obey the Sabbaths are sinful and wrong.
